I love outdoor photography. I just love being out in the open field or a nice country park under glorious weather. It’s almost the perfect ingredient. Beautiful lighting, kind weather, amazing location, lovely model, cute props – it is this child photographer’s dream.

I am pleased that the weather is a little nicer now.  After months of what I can only describe as horribly cold weather, it feels nice to see a little bit of sunshine, even if it comes with rain.

On the day of the shoot, I hoped for sunshine but instead it looked like it was going to rain. I was so nervous that the rain would disrupt our shoot but you know what, the rain held off until after our shoot.

The threat of rain almost made me want to postpone the shoot but we braved it and it paid off and I was able to capture beautiful images of a beautiful girl at a beautiful location.

Ok, so that is a lot of ‘beautiful’ but I hope you get my point.

I’d like to introduce you to Nia. She’s five years old with a bright smile, a sweet personality and a little bit of cheekiness. Did I mention her head full of hair? Look at all that hair!

Here are a few of my favourite images from her session. I had such a hard time narrowing these down for the blog so please excuse the image overload.

When you book a child photo shoot with me, you can either opt for an outdoor photography session or an indoor photo shoot (depending on the weather) or you can have a little bit of both. It’s all up to you.

Meet baby Oscar. Oh my goodness! Could he be any more adorable?

I photographed him at his home in Hornchurch, Essex last week. I absolutely loved being there to capture him. He was just under three weeks old when I met him and he was so alert and sweet.  Here is a sneak peek from his newborn photo shoot.

I processed this photo of baby Oscar in both black and white and colour but I prefer the black and white version. I think I’m getting a little addicted to black and white photography and I’m having fun shooting (some sessions) in and processing in black and white.

I am currently editing this sweet little guy’s newborn gallery. Here is a sneak peek from his session.

Babies change and grow so quickly. Before you know it, they are crawling, walking, getting ready for school so capture them as they are. These precious images are bound to be treasured years from now.

If you are looking for a professional baby photographer in London and are interested in booking a newborn photography shoot with me, please contact me as soon as possible. It is never too early to book a newborn shoot.

My newborn shoots usually last between two to three hours and will take place in the comfort of your own home. Your session will not be rushed. I work at baby’s pace with lots of breaks for feeding, nappy changes and soothing.  I take as much time as I need to get the absolute best images possible.

I like newborn babies to be between 5-10 days old as this is when they are most sleepiest.  No one knows the exact date baby will choose to make an appearance. This is why I usually block your due date plus two weeks on both sides to reserve your session. Then once baby arrives, we can finalize the exact date and time.

I’ve known baby A’s mum for a while. We have a mutual friend in common and it was this mutual friend that purchased a newborn session as a gift to his mum.

This is one of my favourite images from the shoot. Baby is wrapped in his grandmother’s Ankara and it’s so beautiful to see. Ankara is a type of African material with very bold colours and rich patterns.He finally fell asleep and I was able to capture these beautiful images. So cute.

Being a newborn photographer is such a privilege. I love meeting new families and photographing their little miracles.  I love being part of such a precious time in their lives.

Meeting baby Julian a few weeks ago reminded me of just how much I loved being a newborn photographer. Just look how adorable he is. How could you not love him?

I loved every minute photographing Julian. At 11 days old, Julian was such a perfect newborn baby boy. He pretty much slept through the session and made my job so much easier.

The shoot took place in Brentwood, Essex on an extremely cold and miserable day but it was very warm inside as the heater was on so Julian was snug and comfy.
