FAQ

Young girl puts book over her head.Where do you live?
I live in Brentwood, Essex and I am happy to travel all around Essex, London and surrounding areas for your session.

Where do you shoot? Do you have a studio?
No, I don’t have a studio. I am an on-location photographer. I love being outdoors and absolutely get excited when I find new natural backdrops in London and Essex for sessions. I am happy to come to your home for your session for an indoor photo shoot or meet you at an outdoor location of your choice.

What if my home doesn’t have enough natural light?
I usually ask for a tour of your home and will usually shoot in the room that has the best light. That could be your living room, bedroom or even your study. You’ll be surprised where we can find good light. While I am a natural light photographer, I also have a flashgun for parties and special occasions.

Do you require a deposit?
I will require a non-refundable session retainer to reserve your session date. The remaining balance is due in full before your session date.

What time is the best time for our shoot?
This really depends on your family. Young children have more energy in the morning so I tend to suggest morning shoots for families with small children and late afternoon/evening shoots for families with older children. We can discuss this at length and you can make a decision based on your family.

How long does the photo shoot take?
Outdoor photo shoots generally takes about an hour while newborn shoots can last up to three hours. Documentary family shoots can last anywhere from three to eight hours. You choose how long you want to hire me for.

What if I need to reschedule my session?
I usually require 48 hours notice. If you need to reschedule/cancel that is not a problem. Please let me know as soon as you know which date you’d like to reschedule your session. Only one reschedule is permitted.

What if I need to cancel my session?
If you cancel your session after signing a contract and do not want to reschedule then the session fee is non-refundable.

So what happens on the day of the shoot?
As your storyteller, I want to tell your everyday lives and capture natural interactions so I advice parents to plan activities they can do with their children. This way there is less pressure to perform for the camera and kids can just focus on being kids and having fun. The activities can be anything from going to a playground, baking a cake or story time.

What happens if the weather is bad and we are shooting outdoors?
I will keep an eye on weather reports in the days leading to your shoot. If it rains on the day of your shoot, then I will call to let you know if we need to reschedule.

Do you retain copyright to the images?
Yes, I do.

Do I get any prints?
I offer a variety of print and digital collections. I want you to walk away from your session with not just your digital files but also a variety of beautiful heirloom quality prints and wall art.

How will my images be delivered?
I now deliver images from digital collections to clients via a custom made USB stick containing all the full res images they have purchased.

Can I upload my images on social media platforms so I can show friends and family?
Yes, low-resolution, watermarked copies of your purchased images are provided free of charge, for use on social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram and Flickr. The high resolution files you purchased are provided for your private home use only.
