My 2017 Photography Goals | London Family Photographer

Photo of portrait photographer Kofo BaptistNew year, new goals. I’ve been thinking about the things I would like to achieve in this new year. So as a way to keep myself accountable, I have decided to write them all down.

My 2017 photography goals

1) Constant learning
I really want to take my work to a new level this year, whether it is learning a new skill or shooting a personal project.

2) Learn to shoot film
I studied film photography at GCSE level and didn’t take it further. I would really love to revisit film photography this year.

3) Qualify with a photography body
I want to start building a portfolio of work that I can submit. I’ve been putting this off for about two years now and really want to push myself to do it this year.

4) Read more and write more
I want to read a new book a month and write at least 300 words a day. Hopefully I can push myself to write more.

5) Blog regularly
I neglected my old blog in 2016 and blogged only a handful of times. I want to turn a new leaf this year and blog more frequently. I guess this ties in with point 4. I will have to write in order to have something to blog.

6) Attend more networking events
I haven’t really attended a lot of networking events so I’d love to make 2017 the year that I go out more and network with other creatives and entrepreneurs.

7) Be more organised
I would like to simplify my workflow and start using a studio management software. I really need a software to help organise, streamline and automate my clients, contracts, invoices, to-do lists and so on.

8) Get featured on photography related blogs
It’s been a few years since I submitted my work to be featured on a blog and I’d like to submit a couple of recent sessions to be featured this year.

9) Print family photos
Quite a lot of our family memories currently live in our hearts, heads as well as computer drives and USB sticks. I want to practice what I preach by printing our photos to hang on our wall as well as to go in family albums and storybooks.

10)  Weekends off social media
I want to take weekends off social media so that I can be more present with my family.

There you have it. My 2017 photography goals in a nutshell. What are your goals for 2017?

Hello there

I'm a lifestyle and documentary photographer, serving families in London, Essex and surrounding areas. As a mum of three, I focus on capturing images that I would want for my own family; authentic images that depict real lives, natural moments and never-ending love. Have a look around my site and get in touch if you'd like to book a session. I'd love to hear from you!
