Can you believe summer is almost over? Like seriously, six weeks of holiday seem to have just come and gone like that. Soon it will be back for the little ones to go back to school. Are you ready?
To get into the back to school mood, I organized my first styled back to school photo shoot and I am so excited to be sharing some of the images with you.
I wanted to try something different than the plain old boring traditional school photos that look like mug shots. You know the ones where the child stands rigidly in front of a plain background with a dull forced smile on his/her face.
As a mum myself, I have a collection of these traditional school mug shots the school sends home. Typically, school photographers have a short time to capture hundreds of children, usually resulting in rushed sessions and the same cheesy smiles. So I wanted to try an alternative to traditional school photos. Something different allowing for a little bit of time to play around; something fun, modern, eclectic and natural with a little hint of vintage.
I rallied round these five children for a fun outdoor photo shoot in Chelmsford, Essex. Have you ever seen more beautiful kids?
I’ll be offering similar sessions starting in September and running through mid-October for your little ones so keep your eyes peeled for dates and prices. You can also send me a message to reserve your spot.
Here are my favourites from the photo shoot. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
I love the idea of a custom school photography session to celebrate a new school year. And the children change so much in a year so it’s always great to have photos to document their growth.
Imagine having your child’s portrait taken in a similar park in their new school attires with a little bit of ‘mufty’ thrown in just for kicks. Just imagine.
A big thank you to the children and parents that were involved in this photo shoot.
